Airlines are consistently looking for ways to reduce plane weight to increase fuel efficiency. The rise in popularity of weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy could benefit airlines. Insider reported in 2021 that the average weight of passengers had increased — American Airlines told Insider at the time that their average passenger was eight pounds heavier, at 182 pounds in summer and 187 pounds in winter. Both American and Southwest Airlines previously told Insider that they use data from the CDC to calculate passenger weight.

NEW YORK (AP) — A dozen years ago, Barkley L. Hendricks, the pioneering portrait artist known for vivid, stylish paintings of Black men and women, stood outside the Frick Collection in Manhattan, known for its works by European Old Masters. Still, curators say, he'd likely have never imagined that in 2023, he’d be the first artist of color to have a solo show at the 88-year-old Frick. What is more unusual is that a museum focusing on the 14th through 19th centuries would devote a show to a contemporary portraitist like Hendricks. His sunglasses reflect the buildings outside Hendricks' studio, and even contain a tiny reflection of the artist himself. “Slick” features the artist in a white suit against a white background, wearing a cap of African design.

Amazon, which broadcasts the Thursday night games, reported Barkley described his injury as a high ankle sprain. New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has a sprained right ankle and his status for Thursday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers is uncertain, a person familiar with the injury told The Associated Press on Monday. He will talk again on Tuesday in Tempe, Arizona, where the Giants are preparing for Thursday's game. Daboll had said Barkley was being sent for further tests but his availability would probably be a game-time decision. As a coach, de la Rosa champions the work of Steve Magness, whose book “Do Hard Things” focuses on how athletes can use positive self-talk when experiencing discomfort. De la Rosa now shows his clients that they need self-love to build resilience and mental toughness. After struggling with depression and extreme exhaustion following Barkley, and with encouragement from Belzberg, de la Rosa has accepted that he cannot participate in multiday events and more extreme 100-mile races. For now, de la Rosa, who is a sponsored runner, will continue to work on his mental health and focus on single-day events. One of their funniest memories is when de la Rosa paced Belzberg in one of her first 100-mile races and the couple hallucinated that they were seeing an aid station serving pancakes.
